  • Harriet Tubman

Synopsis

The year is 1849. Harriet Tubman, a slave on Edward Brodas' Maryland plantation, escapes one night and finds her way to safety in Philadelphia. Once there, she meets abolitionist William Still, who reveals the workings of the Underground Railroad, a system of people and safe houses used to guide escaped slaves to freedom. Harriet signs on as a conductor, determined to bring her family and friends out of bondage. But Harriet doesn't know that Brodas has hired the infamous Patty Cannon and her gang to track Harriet's whereabouts and bring her back, dead or alive. Harriet, caught in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse, emerges victorious, and The Woman Called Moses eventually leads 300 people to freedom in the Promised Land.
