You all – it’s been a minute. A lot has happened since my last post, but I’ll try to be brief. I’ll also try to be better about posting updates more frequently.

In the fall of 2021, Barter Theatre went back inside with my adaptation of FRANKENSTEIN. John Hardy directed and dramaturged, and I couldn’t have been more pleased with this production. I’ve added the pictures, sample pages etc. under “Plays and Musicals” so check it out.

The Barter Players remained outdoors at the Moonlite, and last Christmas produced my JINGLE ALL THE WAY (music by the amazing Dax Dupuy) and it was spectacular fun. A great time for the whole family.

I have a bunch of TYA shows still running on Barter-on-Demand and schools this past winter took advantage of them, so that’s cool.

My adaptation of THE THREE MUSKETEERS was supposed to be produced by Cleveland Play House in February 2022, but due to COVID concerns it was moved to May. I got a chance to sneak up and see it and had a blast. The fights, in particular, were off the charts. All for one, and one for all!

And here at Barter, KENTUCKY SPRING was produced – book by yours truly and music and lyrics by Dax Dupuy. So many folks helped us develop this piece, but I must give a shoutout to Katy Brown (Barter’s PAD) for insisting we finish this project, Nick Piper (Director of the AFPP) for guiding it through the development process, and Director/Dramaturg John Hardy for his always spot-n mentorship. This was a real team effort, and it showed – the audience loved it. I loved it. We all loved it. And it was a piece of theatre we need at this time in our nation’s history. Check it out on the “Plays and Musicals” page.

And this summer? Two productions for the Barter Players – MY IMAGINARY PIRATE and SLEEPING BEAUTY. Looking forward to both.

That’s all for now. Promise to update again soon!
